The latest eighth generation of Ford Fiesta ST is the continuation of the best hot hatch offered in the automotive market of last years. Fiesta had debut at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. Sports novelties are hidden under the bodywork of this city car, but cars that can match its driving characteristics and travel pleasure (such as the Mini Cooper S, Audi A1 or BMW Series 2) are eliminated because of the high price.

The new Fiesta ST 2018 will be the first three-cylinder model with the EcoBoost engine from Ford Performance. The heart beating under the hood of this hothatch is supposed to generate 200 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque from 1.5 liters, which reaches 62 mph in 6.5 seconds. Another new thing introduced into the ST model is the deactivation of cylinders. Thanks to this sporty hothatch will be even more economical, and the restart will take only 14 milliseconds! This is the first solution for an engine unit with 3 cylinders that will reduce fuel consumption by 11%. Additionally, for the first time the Fiesta system will be equipped with a choice of driving modes (Normal, Sport and Track), similar to the latest Ford Focus RS. These programs are designed to change the speed engine response, steering, exhaust and safety systems (like ESP).

News, including Quaife!

The Fiesta ST was developed by the Ford Performance team to provide everyone the confidence and fun of driving. The optional equipment is an absolute novelty -(LSD) Limited Slip Differential from Quaife company.

Another novelty is the patented new generation of springs (Force Vectoring Springs) with a torsion beam, whose task is to better feel the car in the corners, resulting in greater stiffness and agility. In addition, we will find the Launch Control option, which improves performance and optimizes the quick start. In the interior, apart from the well-known Recaro sports seats, we will find new pedal pads, steering wheel, sound system with SYNC3 multimedia and B&O Play speakers. Safety systems for new Fiesta has also been updated with Line Assist and road sign recognition.

The car will go on sale this spring in 3 and 5 door versions. Its price is estimated at around 20,000 pounds.
